What is Your Ranking?

As I was going to work one fine morning I saw a bird – I think it is ‘myna’- busily pecking a piece of disposed food under a tree. In the next minute I saw another bird of the same kind fluttering towards it to take its share of the morning blessings.

The bird which has got the first meal quickly took its food and flew away. The poor second bird watched helplessly moving its head aimlessly in great disappointment. As I watched the entire scene, I felt a strong sense of giving the selfish bird a lesson on sharing. How am I going to do this? Either I breed some of the birds and teach them the instinct of sharing. Well, I do not know whether I can make them more caring.

Selfish in animals and us is a programmed instinct of not allowing anyone into your territory and assets. It can be useful at times. But, we have to let go a little to your fellow being. At that moment I felt a sense of shame to my self as I am also part of the selfish game in this world. I also sensed that there are ‘Holy’ beings above us watching our behaviour as how I am watching the above ‘selfish ‘act.

I wonder how these “Holy’ beings would be able to communicate every one of us to teach us the ‘true’ way of living in this world. We cannot be like animals. We have to uplift our self to the higher living. That will be our purpose.

Have we ever wondered amongst our busy schedule where we were before our births? The answer will be –‘I do not know’. Do we ever wonder or think of where we go when our lives end? The answer will be – ‘I do not know or I do not care”. Perhaps we need to ponder over these statements of Allah swt:

Say: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? Or who is it that has power over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? And who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say, "Allah." Say, "Will ye not then show piety (to Him)?" - Sura 10 verse 31

And what is meant by piety (fear of Allah or righteousness)?

It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the Allah-fearing. –Chap 2 verse 177

Therefore the conditions to be near Allah swt are to do believe in:
· Allah swt
· The Last Day
· Angels
· Scripture and the Prophets
And to give our wealth, out of the love of Allah swt, to “
· Kinsfolk
· Orphans
· Needy
· Wayfarer
· Those who ask

· Set slaves free
· Observe prayer
· Pay the poor due
· Keep treaty
· Patience in time of adversity and stress

Let us ponder ourselves our piety ranking!

The Key of the Treasures of the Heavens and the Earth

W hen I wrote the post of my visit to see the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) , you may be wondering how that can be? To tell you the truth I felt the same way. But it is a norm for great learned people of the past to have experience of dreaming the great Prophet. I think it all decided by Allah swt to have a glimpse of the sweetness of faith. It is all about our intention in this life. What we actually want in the inner recesses of our hearts. What you want is what you get. I will also like to give some information of what I do in my daily life. 12 years ago I got the opportunity of a book on Islam. Therein I found a story of the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw. It is reported that ‘ Uthman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, requested further information about Allah’s injunction of the Keys of the Treasure of the Heavens and the Earth (mentioned several times in the Quran). The Prophet saws said to him “You have inquired of me something which nobody has ever asked me befo...

Is Time Travelling possible

⚘️It' Friday again. May Allah swt bless and give us goodness in this world and in the hereafter, and grant us Jannathul Firdous.🤲 On the day of Judgement the Prophet will lodge the following complaint. "Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." May Allah swt protect us from this and enable us to read, understand and follow the Quran only. An interesting part in this century is time travelling. We have seen it in movies, you tube and many other social media dramatising this phenomenon. Is time travel possible? Are there any references from the Reading (Quran)? The classic example of going into the future is depicted in 18:25. Its about the seven youth who wanted to safeguard their faith. A notorious King wanted everyone to acknowledge him as god. To this the seven youth ran away and sought God's help in a cave. To protect their faith! "they said: "Our Lord, bring us a mercy from Your...

I Was Taken Up To The Sky

G lory to (God) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless, - in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things). 17/1 It was the year 2005. One of my relative gave me a unique  digital tasbih (counter) from Mecca. I do have a counter but it is noisy when I click it to count. Asking Allah to bless upon Prophet Muhammad (saw) had been very beneficial to believers. It is known as "salawat" or "darood". However, repeating the same words could become a bored activity. There are hadith which propose 1000 daroods upon the Prophet. Some  opinionated   40000 daroods before a person reaches the age of 40. Forty is the age when our beloved Prophet was given prophet hood as he received the first five verses of the Al- Quran. Back in 2005 I got a project in building management which is located 30 over kilometers in the East,I had to leave fro...
